Community Involvement

Chris Pfanstiel's mother, Kathy, is in the midst of a thrity year bout with Multiple Sclerosis.  Chris grew up learning and understanding the complications the disease can cause for families.  His appreciation of these circumstances has lead to his community involvement.  He has participated and ran functions for the Multiple Sclerosis Society throughout his life and has began the process of launching his own non-profit organization to benefit families affected by the disease.

Chris is now in his third year serving as a board member at his parish, the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in the South Hill of Pittsburgh.   He serves as their Financial Secretary and is proud to spend his extra time and focus helping the church his Papou first built.

Chris is also the Chairman of the Alpha Tau Omega, Alphi Pi Board of Trustees.   While at Washington & Jefferson College, Chris was one of the Founding Fathers and a Treasurer for his Fraternity and enjoys his involvement on the Board as it allows him to mentor current undergraduate members.

Chris recently was asked to join the Development Committee and Young Professionals Board at Animal Friends.   His dog, Kaia, was a rescued Pit Bull from the shelter and Chris has supported and admired the shelter since her Rescue Day, 1/26/13.   Chris only invisions his efforts to save dogs (and cats and rabbits) increasing in the future.

Chris' additional involvement includes being a member of Dallas Lodge 231 of the Pennsylvania Masons and being the Grand Sword Bearer for the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.
